Icebreakers for Introverts

“Given the scale of life in the cosmos, one human life is no more than a tiny blip. Each one of us is a just visitor to this planet, a guest, who will only stay for a limited time.

What greater folly could there be than to spend this short time alone, unhappy or in conflict with our companions?

Far better, surely, to use our short time here in living a meaningful life, enriched by our sense of connection with others and being of service to them.”

— Dalai Lama

Why did we do it?

Despite being constantly digitally connected, we are feeling more disconnected than ever.

Evidence of this is showing up in the news a lot these days. According to a recent study,* Fifty-six percent (of 20,000 surveyed) reported they sometimes or always felt like the people around them "are not necessarily with them."

We launched this project because we believe in the power of being WITH one another.

The book

Icebreakers for Introverts is pocket sized so you can easily take it with you to your next uncomfortable gathering. Play with the questions. Take notes. It’s made to be written in.

Questions to consider:

  •  What resulted from your experimentation with these questions?

  •  What questions worked for you?

  •  What should we be thinking about as we continue our experiments?

The ask

This project kicked off summer 2019. We mailed our first run of books out in July and asked people to put them to use. We are gathering feedback and will be iterating based on what we learn.

We believe in experimenting: starting small to test and learn what works (in business and in life). This book is an experiment and we want to learn from you.

You’ve received a postcard with the book. Send it back and tell us what you think. We’ll take your feedback and it will inform what’s next...

Thank you for joining us, Jackie & Matt

Would you like a book?

Our first run was a small one. We believe in starting small, testing and learning what works. If you’d like a book, let us know and we will tell you when you can expect to receive one.
